Specifically, we are seeking faculty for the following course(s): Philosophers of all specialties are encouraged to apply, but applicants should have a demonstrated interest in research and pedagogy involving non-Western philosophy, women thinkers, Latin American, Native American, or other traditionally under-represented area of philosophy.
Myth of the World (HUMN 351): A presentation of myths from around the globe.
The goal is to examine the interface between myths and cultural forms such as literature, art, and religion.
Topics include sacred places and objects, goddesses and gods, heroes and tricksters, and stories of creation and destruction.
Discussion also covers implicit values in the myths that shape cultural and individual identity and affect the social landscape.
Required Education and Experience: Master's degree in Philosophy with an emphasis on non-western philosophical traditions or related field of study.
Professional experience in related field.
Experience teaching adult learners online an in higher education is highly preferred.
This position is specifically to teach onsite at Fort Bliss, TX.
