Major/Essential Functions
• Provides in-patient hospital care and in-patient consultation services
• Provides outpatient care in Faculty Clinic or supervision of Resident Clinics
• Supervises and teaches students and residents in both in-patient and outpatient care
• Participates in academic activities in the areas of education, clinical care, and research
• Engages in advancement of scientific knowledge through research and/or scholarship
• Serves the academic community through participation in institutional governance such as committee work
• Contributes to the community through academically-related public service complementary to the institutional mission
• Adheres to institutional and departmental policies and procedures
• Ensures compliance with HIPAA and billing regulations
• Exhibits teamwork orientation and acts as a team player

Required Qualifications

degree
Licensed in Texas, or eligible for medical licensure in the State of Texas
Successful completion of ACGME-accredited residency training in Internal Medicine
Preferred Qualifications
• Bilingual in English and Spanish
• Board Certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine for rank of Assistant Professor or higher
• Regional or emerging national reputation for the rank of Associate Professor or higher
