Location: El Paso, TX Category: Liberal Arts Posted On: Wed Oct 4 2023 Job Description: The Department of Latin-US and Linguistics at The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level, with a research specialization in Bilingualism in Heritage Speakers of Spanish in the US.
This position targets, but is not limited to, applicants with expertise in language acquisition, Hispanic linguistics, teaching Spanish for heritage speakers and/or Spanish for the professions.
We particularly encourage applications from researchers with experience teaching phonology and/or syntax.
The position will begin in the Fall 2024 semester.
Job Requirements: A Ph.
D.
in Linguistics, Second Language Acquisition, Hispanic Linguistics, or related field, published research, potential to attract external funding, and the ability to teach and direct research.
Additional Information: Hiring decisions are based upon budget approval.
