Essential Functions
Provides Student Support Services Program (SSSP) students with guidance in all undergraduate fields that includes educational goal setting, degree plans, program eligibility requirements, application process, and course selection.
Tracks students’ academic progress and provide academic assistance through SSSP resources and academic college assistance; assesses eligibility requirements and progress of students.
Collect, review, and follow up with students regarding college program applications and respective processes, ensuring documentation received is complete and accurate.
Updates department database on a daily basis.
Responsible to keep track of participant’s records using database and excel charts.
Conducts professional development workshops for mentors and tutors.
Communicates with respective personnel across campus, serving as liaison between academics and students.
Maintains compliance with university rules and regulations to ensure academic and administrative integrity.
Knowledge of all Microsoft Office software and able to learn and use institutional software systems.
Collects participant data for the annual Assessment Symposium.
Coordinates cultural and educational events/trips for student participants.
Implements and conducts workshop presentations on various topics as deemed necessary for the success of SSSP students.
Works with UTEP Graduate School to provide information on graduate Programs.
Coordinates bi-annually graduate school trips, aimed at providing our participants with more information on graduate programs and school visits.
Coordinates a yearly SSSP Award Ceremony, aimed at recognizing student participants academic achievements.
Volunteers for campus wide events.
Oversees program tutors and mentors.
Documents student participant progress via monthly reports sent to the Director.
Creates and updates student files.
Complies with all State and University policies.
Other duties may be assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities Assists with supervising of program peer mentors and tutors.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Required Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university.
and
Experience: Two (2) years of experience working with student groups in either an educational or work-related setting.
Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree from a college or university.
