Job Summary
Assesses, plans, organizes, implements and evaluates orientation and educational programs for Associates under area(s) of responsibility.
In addition, fulfills responsibilities of an RN and functions as Performance Improvement liaison for area(s) of responsibility.
Functions as the liaison for the Physicians, updates and reviews all nursing competencies, educational needs and reviews the current standards of practice to ensure the standards of care are maintained in the departmental setting.
Identifies new technologies and changing standards of care for policy/procedure review and revisions.
Serves as Educational planner for CNE through possession of authority, accountability and responsibility of the CNE program planning.
Serves as an internal consultant and facilitator to Performance Improvement Program(s) and related activities, and represents the service in organizational Performance Improvement Program(s).

Work Experience
1.
Three years RN experience working in specialty care area.
Education experience preferred.
2.
Experience in quality improvement (i.
e.
, development and/or implementation of performance improvement activities) or related activities highly preferred.
License/Registration/Certification
1.
Current Texas or compact RN license to practice in the State of Texas.
2.
Current CPR training program.
3.
Current ACLS training program required or obtained within 6 months of being in the position for the following areas: Ambulatory Surgical Unit, Antepartum, Cardio PACU, Cath Lab/IR, CVICU, Echo/Stress, Emergency Dept.
, Endo Pre-Assessment, Endoscopy, ICU, IMCU, Labor & Delivery, Monitored OBS Unit, Neuro ICU, Observation Unit, Operating Room, PACU (Recovery), Stroke Monitoring, and Telemetry.
4.
Current PALS required or obtained within 6 months of being in the position for the following areas: Ambulatory Surgical Unit, Antepartum, Cath Lab/IR, Emergency Dept.
, Endo Pre-Assessment, Endoscopy, Labor & Delivery, Mother/Baby, Newborn Nursery, Operating Room, and PACU (Recovery).
5.
TNCC or ATCN obtained within 1 year of being in the position for the following nursing units: Emergency Dept.
, ICU, IMCU, Neuro ICU, and PACU (Recovery).
6.
CPI training required or completed within 1 year of being in the position for the following nursing units: CVICU, Emergency Dept.
, ICU, IMCU, Neuro ICU, and Stroke Monitoring.
7.
ENP training required or obtained within 1 year of being in the position for the Emergency Dept.
8.
Nursing Professional Development certification or national nursing certification for specific unit required to be obtained within 3 years of being in the position.
Education and Training
Bachelor degree in Nursing required.

Schedule: Full Time, Days, 8am-5pm
