Tutor: Math for Science and Engineering

The Miner Athlete Academic Center (MAAC) is the academic and eligibility services center that provides UTEP student-athletes seamless personalized support from admissions through graduation.
The MAAC is responsible for certifying student-athletes’ NCAA academic eligibility and progress toward degree completion.
The MAAC is looking for motivated, dedicated and organized tutors interested in making a difference in student-athletes’ lives by delivering tutoring one-on-one and in small group settings.
Our effective one-on-one tutoring program is a valuable resource for student-athletes as it facilitates development of time management and study skills in a learning environment.
Tutors must have specific subject knowledge in advanced math from pre-calculus through junior/senior level including, MATH 1508, MATH 1411, MATH 1312, MATH 2326, MATH 3323, etc.
Tutors are required to clarify course content effectively, guide students in learning course material, and increase mathematical competencies in the core math courses required for science and engineering.
Tutors must possess strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills and basic clerical skills necessary for submitting summary reports.
Hours per week and appointment schedules are fixed based on availability; must be able to work within peak hours: Sundays 12 p.

Tutors must commit to work the entire semester through final exam week.
