Tutor for Environmental Science, Geography, and Geology

The Miner Athlete Academic Center (MAAC) is the academic and eligibility services center that provides UTEP student-athletes seamless personalized support from admissions through graduation.
The MAAC is responsible for certifying student-athletes’ NCAA academic eligibility and progress toward degree completion.
The MAAC is looking for motivated, dedicated and organized tutors interested in making a difference in student-athletes’ lives by delivering tutoring one-on-one and in small group settings.
Our effective one-on-one tutoring program is a valuable resource for student-athletes as it facilitates development of time management and study skills in a learning environment.
Tutors must have specific subject knowledge in environmental science, geography, and geology specifically, ESCI 1301, GEOG 1306, GEOL 1313.
Tutors are required to clarify course content effectively, guide students in learning course material, and increase environmental, geographical and geological competencies in the core science courses.
Tutors must possess strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills and basic clerical skills necessary for submitting summary reports.
Hours per week and appointment schedules are fixed based on availability; must be able to work within peak hours: Sundays 12 p.

Tutors must commit to work the entire semester through final exam week.
