Position Responsibilities
Maintenance Handy Man is a maintenance professional that must be familiar with all aspects of maintenance up keeping both interior or exterior of a facility or office operation and in order to do so this person must understand the basic functions and components such us electrical, plumbing and overall repairs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Incumbent performs a variety of duties related to maintaining all the facilities in the office un optimal conditions both functional and esthetical.
• Performs maintenance and light repairs
• Repairs, fills gaps or crevices on walls, ceilings, sidewalks or floors
• Repairs equipment or appliances (example: washers, dryers, etc.
)
• Undertakes light installation or small carpeting tasks (example: door knobs, doors, cabinets)
• Performs light electrical or plumbing repairs
• Performs routine landscaping or cleaning on the grounds
• Identifies and reports the need for major repairs
• Performs other duties as assigned or emergency tasks (example: shoveling snow)
Computer Skills
Basic to none.
Education Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
Technical certification or equivalent in experience in electrical, basic plumbing, mechanical and customer service knowledge.
Experience Requirements
3 - 5 years of experience in related field.
Core Competencies
Incumbent must have proven experience to diagnose problems and make decisions.
Experience with hardware tools and electrical equipment.
Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, math skills.
Good communications ability.
Well organized and aptitude to solving problems, attention to detail.
Physical Requirements
Frequent exposure to outside weather conditions, is around fumes/odors and chemicals, and is around heavy machinery/safety hazards.
Incumbent must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
and must be familiar with Materials Handling equipment.
