POSITION SUMMARY:
Safely operates company vehicles to deliver merchandise from warehouse to various facilities and locations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Plans and completes an efficient delivery and pick up route for the day;
Loads vehicle with merchandise scheduled to be delivered;
Inspects vehicle daily before operating;
Delivers merchandise and obtains signatures on necessary documents including proof of receipt by customer;
Picks up orders placed via purchase orders or other forms of purchases and delivers materials to warehouse or customer;
Complies documentation and requirements as established through policies and procedures;
Maintains basic records of truck mileage and deliveries made;
Coordinates with Fleet Division for the servicing and maintenance of delivery vehicles;
Assists in general warehouse duties when delivery rout is completed;
Other position related duties as required and assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or its equivalent GED; must possess a current Texas Drivers License, have a clean driving record, and be insurable; must be able to successfully pass a post-offer drug screen and criminal history background investigation.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY:
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing excellent customer and personnel services; ability to drive safely; ability to plan delivery routes; basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications; must possess excellent communication skills and be service oriented; ability to identify, prioritize, and deliver time sensitive merchandise to appropriate departments.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to lift, sit, talk, stand, drive, and hear; The employee is required to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop kneel or crouch.
The employee is loads and unloads packages with and without dollies.
The employee is required to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
The vision requirements include: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.
